How Capmap collects, uses, and protects your personal data.

Who we are
Capmap is an independent European financial platform comparison website. We provide a directory of financial platforms, comparison tools, and educational blog content. Capmap is operated from the Netherlands.
What data we collect
We collect a minimal amount of data:
- Contact form submissions: if you submit the “For Platforms” contact form, we collect the information you provide (name, email, platform details).
- Usage data: pages visited and general interaction patterns. No personally identifiable information is attached to analytics data unless you have given consent.
- Cookie preferences: your consent choices are stored locally.
How we process your data
- Contact forms: submissions via the “For Platforms” form are stored in our database and used only to respond to your enquiry.
- Analytics: anonymized usage data helps us understand which pages are visited and how to improve the website.
Where your data is stored
Capmap is hosted on Vercel with servers in the EU. Any data collected (contact form submissions, analytics) is stored in the European Union. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+).

Third-party processors
We use the following services to operate the website:
- Vercel (EU/US) — application hosting and CDN
- Supabase (Ireland) — database hosting
Your data is never sold to third parties. It is never used for advertising.
Legal basis for processing (GDPR)
- Legitimate interest: basic usage analytics to improve the website, security monitoring.
- Consent: analytics cookies (consent banner), contact form submissions.
Your rights under GDPR
As a user in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights:
- Access: request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification: request corrections to inaccurate data.
- Erasure: request deletion of your data.
- Portability: request a machine-readable export of your data.
- Restrict processing: request that we limit how we use your data.
- Object: object to processing based on legitimate interest at any time.
- Withdraw consent: revoke analytics consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of prior processing.
Data retention
- Contact form data: retained for up to 12 months to respond to and follow up on enquiries, then deleted.
- Analytics data: anonymized and aggregated. Cannot be traced back to individual users.
Children
Capmap is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
